Warner Bates is proud to support the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) by presenting the 8th Annual Guardian ad Litem Benefit. AVLF is the largest provider of pro bono legal services in Atlanta. Every year, over 5,000 Atlantans receive free, first-rate legal services from AVLF staff and the 500 professionals and students who volunteer to assist the organization.
Among the critical services provided by AVLF are free or low-cost Guardians ad Litem. Divorcing parents often disagree over custody of their children – leaving the Judge responsible for deciding what is in a child’s best interest. Judges often appoint a Guardian ad Litem to advocate in the the best interests of a child. To ensure that children receive the advocacy they need and deserve, AVLF recruits, trains, and supervises private lawyers to serve as Guardians ad Litem at no cost to the parties.
